Artevino's origins are closely linked to the Antón family who, in 1987, built Bodegas Izadi in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Bodegas Izadi is committed to producing a high quality Rioja wine, with a modern style, but based on old vines, low-yielding vineyards and an almost artisanal treatment of the winegrowers of this privileged area of ​​the DOCa Rioja.

The deep links with the hotel and catering sector and the great knowledge of the Antón family in haute cuisine have enabled Bodegas Izadi to quickly penetrate the segment of quality wines, with a unique concept of winemaking and wine making. marketing.

1987 Gonzalo Antón, renowned hotelier and owner of the Zaldiaran restaurant, a reference in the Basque Country, decides, at the age of 37, to found Bodegas Izadi and unite his two passions: wine and gastronomy.

1993 Izadi in Villabuena de Álava opens to the public, becoming one of the first wineries with its own restaurant, hotel and guided tours. Various events of the pioneering Vitoria Signature Cuisine congress are organized there.

2000 Lalo Antón, son of the founder, joins the company and begins a period of opening up to new channels, internationalization and expansion.

2003 With the Orben project in La Rioja, a period of expansion culminates, in which Finca Villacreces (2003) and Vetus (2004) were incorporated. Since then, Artevino has owned four wineries in Rioja, Ribera and Toro.

2010 Izadi, which is about to celebrate its quarter of a century, is ranked among the top 100 wineries in the world by the American magazine Wine & Spirits.

2012 Finca Villacreces becomes famous thanks to Pruno, considered by Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate) as the best Spanish wine in history for less than $ 20.

2017 With the acquisition of Pinos Claros, in the golden mile of Ribera del Duero, Artevino brings to 275 the number of hectares of vineyards it owns, 70% of which are organically grown.

2019 The Top 100 ranking of the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator ranks Orben as the best Spanish wine of the year and places it among the 15 best rated wines in the world.

2021 Artevino's commitment to sustainability and respect for the origin leads it to certify all of its wineries in the program.
