Grapes: Viura, Garnacha blanca and Maturana blanca.
Land: Sandy-loamy soil (Maturana) of the Haro and Anguciana area, calcareous clay (Garnacha blanca) of Villalba de Rioja and Galbárruli and calcareous and ferrous clay (Viura) of the village of Badarán.
Hand-harvested at the optimum ripeness point for each variety and plot. Transported to the winery in small crates in refrigerated trucks to preserve all the aromatic potential intact.
After a short period of maceration in the press, the free draft must which flows by gravity is taken. This is called “mosto flor”. This is then fermented at low temperature in American oak barrels. When fermentation is complete, the wine remains on its lees for 3 months in an “Oeuf de Beaune” (egg-shaped concrete tank) to preserve the aromatic expression and obtain more body and greater sweetness.
Aging: Aged for 6 months in new French oak barrels made in our own cooperage, with a light toast. The oak comes from prestigious woods in Nevers and Bertranges. Then, the wine is left to evolve in the bottle for 18 months to obtain more refinement and roundness.
Tasting: Brilliant golden yellow wine.
Very complex, high intensity of aromas on the nose with white flower, green apples, grapefruit, orange peel and a touch of spices, such as cinnamon.
On the palate, the harmonious balance of acidity and sweetness is a surprise. The citrus flavors return, with a touch of minerality and a very long and refreshing finish.
