Located between 650 and 750 meters above sea level on semi-flat terrain descending from north to south and facing south.
Age: Average age of 50 years.
Vinification: Destemming and subsequent fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Weather and harvest: Winter began with cold temperatures, but in February the trend set in which would dominate for the rest of the year, with spring values remaining well above the normal, a summer dominated by episodes of extreme temperatures and a very hot autumn. As far as precipitation is concerned, the year was very dry, with records half of the average values. These circumstances led to very early bud burst, due to the temperatures, and a lack of plant vigor, due to the scarcity of water reserves. This gave plants with few bunches and small size, as well as grapes, conditions that had a positive influence on ripening. The cycle continued well in advance, bringing the harvest of the grapes very early, a harvest marked by a production limited in terms of quantity but qualified as excellent.
Aging: 18 months in American oak barrels and 6 months in bottle.
Variety: 100% Tempranillo
View: Cherry red color with a purple edge, clean and bright.
Nose: Elegant nose of black fruits, such as blackberries and blueberries, and liquorice, characteristics of the Tempranillo variety. Notes of vanilla denoting its 18 months in American oak.
Mouth: Voluminous entry, with ripe and round tannins and a long persistence in the mouth with notes of black fruits, light spices and vanilla.
Serving temperature: 12 ºC – 14 ºC.
Accompaniment: Grilled red meats and small game such as partridge or hare.
