The Contador 2020 is the result of a blend of selected grapes fermented in four 900 liter tanks.
All fermentations were initiated after a period of cold maceration with the grapes around 18 º C and it spent 6 days. Fermentation took place smoothly and continuously with controlled temperatures between 20ºC and 25ºC, and the average duration was 9-11 days. The maceration lasted 5 days.
The Contador 2020 is a blend of Tempranillo (84%) and Garnacha (16%) grapes.
In this vintage, 2020, we chose ten different vineyards because they had the grapes with the perfect characters to make our flagship wine. This special selection is made to seek the perfect balance between acidity, alcohol and tannin. On the date of harvest, the grapes were in their optimum moment with a very good sanitary condition.
Tasting note: The 2020 Contador has a cherry red color with very high intensity and shine. The nose is deep, there are very mature red and black fruits, and the aromatic herbs stand out (thyme, rosemary, lavender and fennel). It also has a marked mineral note and the fine herbs that define the character of garnacha. The palate is very fine and powerful, also very voluminous. It presents a great balance between fruit, oak, herbs and balsamic. The final aftertaste is long and intense. It is very ripe, fresh and tasty. It has great depth and great balance.
Very long end.
