Ca'n and Gorgollassa. Decanted: one hour before tasting. The wine needs a few more years to flourish.
Vineyard: Finca de Can .
Viticulture: The vines are cultivated using reasonable practices to obtain quality grapes: plant cover between the rows, short pruning, green pruning to maintain optimal production, phytosanitary treatments only when essential and using the least aggressive to auxiliary fauna, thinning of the bunches after veraison and manual harvesting with selection of the bunches.
Anada: 2018 was a year of constant precipitation throughout the year,
except for a month and a half in summer, from early July to mid-August. A complicated year therefore, which also marked the wine, a little lighter.
Harvest: The Merlot was harvested on September 1st, the Syrah and the Mantonegro on the 8th.
September and the Gorgollassa on September 29.
Aging: The wine was aged for twelve months in 225 liter French oak barrels (23% new barrels, 23% one year old barrels, 23% two year old barrels and 31% three year old barrels ) at controlled temperatures. After blending, it was kept in vats for 3 months until bottling, and remained in the bottle for a further 12 months until it was released in 2021.
Types of grapes: 43,2% Merlot, 35,2% Syrah, 11,9% Gorgollassa, 9,7% Mantonegro.
Production: 4.369 bottles
Tasting notes: Intense cherry color, aromatic coffee on the nose,
black fruits and wild herbs. Elegant, tasty and long in the mouth with a fine bitterness.
