History: at the beginning of the 90s of the last century, the planting of red varieties began to relaunch the production of red wines in Malaga. The varieties are chosen according to their best adaptation to different soils and microclimates: Petit Verdot, Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon are the varieties chosen for Los Montes de Málaga and the Sierra de Camarolos.
Vineyards: Camarolos grapes come from two vineyards: El Cortijo de La Fresneda at 850 m altitude in the Sierra de Camarolos from vines planted 15 years ago and El Lagar de Vadillo with 3 hectares of vines at 900 m of altitude planted 30 years ago in the Cerro del Moro de Los Montes de Málaga. The latter is also dedicated to the culture of Pedro Ximenez. Both are vineyards grown dry on trellises and on a steep slope, which is very steep in the Cerro del Moro (46%). The proximity of these vineyards to the Mediterranean Sea clearly marks the character of this wine.
Tasting notes: Garnet color. Aromas of red fruits, undergrowth chocolate and violet. Garnet color and fine tannins which give it a pleasant structure. Vibrant character of red fruits and spices, it is both fresh and concentrated. Lots of silkiness and finesse with a very fresh finish.
A very gourmet wine that will be enjoyed for at least the next 10 years.
