Harvest: The abundant rains accumulated in winter and spring made it possible to obtain an excellent harvest.
The vineyards were in excellent condition during the first months of the cycle.
The ripening process was normal and with adequate quality parameters. Our harvests were marked by a great selection of grapes in the vineyard and in the cellar. Among the characteristics that define the average profile of the wines, we highlight a lower alcohol content than in previous years, the finesse of the reds, with intense and lively colors, as well as their harmony on the palate.
VINEYARDS, VARIETIES AND AGING: 100% Tempranillo from our Mayorita, El Bardal and El Rebollar estates in Rodezno and Alto del Rey in Labastida. These are vineyards located 500-600 meters above sea level, planted on clay-limestone soils.
After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery in refrigerated platforms and 300 kg boxes, thus preserving their integrity. After destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes were transferred to vats where they underwent natural alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for two years in our own American oak barrels, new for the first year, and in four-year-old barrels for the second. We carried out four traditional rackings, from barrel to barrel and by candlelight.

Tasting Notes: Medium-high, bright ruby color with cherry red tones on the rim of the glass. On the nose, it presents a strong aromatic intensity of red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, currants and cherries, wrapped in elegant notes of vanilla, caramel, coffee cream, cinnamon, brioche bread and hazelnut. On the palate balance between acidity and alcohol with soft, sweet and round tannins, ending in a pleasant final sensation.
