The 2019 Aubaguetes come from a 1,55 hectare vineyard of old vines currently being classified as Gran Vinya Classificada.
The 2019 wine is a blend of 74% Grenache, 25% Carignan and 1% white grapes: Grenache Blanc and Macabeo.
It is fermented in oak vats with native yeasts and aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
This is probably the furthest behind of the 2019s and perhaps slightly different from the rest of the 2019s, as the percentage of Carignan in this case is more or less the same as in previous years, while that of the rest of the wines tends to be be a little weaker.
La Cariñena was not affected by the heat like the rest of the varieties, because it benefited from a lot of shade - hence its name in Catalan -: the sun disappears at 10 a.m.
The performance was similar to that of previous years. Consequently, it is a darker and more earthy wine, more marked by the and earthy, more marked by Carignan and very dark slate soils.
It has more grainy tannins and once again a different texture from the rest of the 2019s.
But, once again, it presents an excellent balance and it is perhaps the most traditional Priorat wine in its range.
It has a production of 2 bottles which were bottled in May 543.
